BACKtoGOLF is committed to educating physical therapists and other health care professionals about developing a new program for expanding the scope of their practices, while providing a valuable service to golfers and golf professionals in their communities. This site is intended for golfers of all levels, all healthcare professionals who work with golfers, and golf teaching professionals.
Bud Ferrante, PT, OCS, MTC, is in private practice in Carmel, CA and has been involved in rehabilitation and sports performance training. He worked with several members of the 1996 US Track and Field Olympic team. He was an S-1 instructor for the University of St. Augustine from 1988-89. He developed the BACKtoGOLF Seminar series in 1992, integrating the concepts of performance training used with world class and professional athletes. He has worked with PGA/ Champions Tour players for years at the Pebble Beach AT&T National ProAm, The Callaway Golf Pebble Invitational, The Michael Jordan Celebrity Invitational and other private tournaments. He has formed the Tournament Services International , providing tournament support to private, elite tournaments. These techniques and insights are offered in the BACKtoGOLF Seminar. In addition, he has presented his Six Step Evaluation/Golf Performance concepts at the World Scientific Congress on Golf, 2008.
Concepts - Biomechanics and golf swing specific exercise and training.
BACKtoGOLF was founded in 1990. The concepts were developed from the successes in working with National Football League, Major League Baseball, and Olympic track and field athletes, the company takes the concepts of 'sport specific' traning with a biomechanical perspective and applies it to the golf swing movement.
Biomechanical Perspective of the golf swing - See how postural compensations affect the golf swing movement.
Understanding the restrictions of movement caused by postural compensations and restrictions are critical to restoring golf swing movements.
The results of this application was a substantial improvement for golfers in distance and accuracy. Working from this 'biomechanical' perspective, the focus is on the body, rather than the club. Many swing faults, inconsistent swings, injuries and poor rounds of golf are a result of the golfer's inability to execute a bio mechanically correct golf swing movement. Correct the movement, and the club corrects itself. We do not teach ball striking, we work with movement patterns and corrective exercise.
Professional golfers use physical therapists before and after their rounds. This same level of expertise can also be available to the novice. Thousands of amateur and professional golfers across the U.S. and Canada have experienced the dramatic results of this program. Better swing mechanics, improved distance and accuracy . . . better, healthier golf.

BACKtoGOLF Total Performance Seminar is a biomechanical approach to Golf Performance training.
At this seminar you will understand the importance of: |
Flexibility - The key areas that should be flexible, and the areas that should be stable.
Strength - The importance of strength, what is important & how to achieve it. The neurology of exercise as related to a complex movement, the Neuroplasticity of exercise training.
Balance - How to test it for the golf swing, how to specifically train it. A different and effective approach.
Coordination - What makes the golf swing effective, key insights to coordination of hands, shoulders, hips.
From this perspective you will be able to apply exercises that mirror the golf swing to accelerate neuromuscular motor control and create a golf performance program based on the biomechanics of the golf swing. These are new concepts that many of the PGA Tour players use, provided in a format for the recreational golfer, who is one of your target audiences. You will learn how to train and improve the golf swing movement of the amateur, recreational golfer, high and low handicap golfer, which is your market. I have trained thousands of golfers, I will show you how.
The BACKtoGOLF Total Performance Seminar also provides insight to golf related injuries, management of joint replacements and senior golfers.
To register, call 1-800-986-5370 or by email at back2golf@aol.com
